About Me

My nickname is Earl. I pretty much live for two things, music and baseball. I play ball for my school team and I go about 18 hours of the day listening to music. This blog is for my english class but I will use it as a means of album, concert, and movie reviews as well as other things.

Socratic Seminar Review 5/12

In today's socratic seminar, I got the vibe that everyone felt what hapened to Frank was a fitting punishment because he was a sick and twisted person who caused alot of pain to many people and I agree 100%. Rape and sexual abuse are the most disgusting and perverted things one person can inflict upon another human being. This is just my opinion but I think it worse than murder and any convicted rapist should be given a life sentence. With the amount of women he raped, death is truly the only fitting punishment for someone who's mind is that sick and twisted. I guess by killing himself he saved himself the embarrasment of being publically tried and convicted and then going to jail. He took the cowardly way out, in my opinion. I find suicide to be the most pathetic action someone can do to themselves, because if you value your life so little in the first place, why do feel the need to ruin other peoples lifes. Frank is a coward for doing what he did. Honestly I felt this book was not one of the better books we have read this year and the ending I felt, for once, wasn't anti-climatic and fit the story nicely. I really didn't enjoy reading it at all so maybe this is why I was so satisfied with the ending but I thought suicide and them moving away was perfect for the situation.
